Practice of computer basics

Objective: At the end of this exercise you shall be able to
• practice cut, copy, paste, save, undo, open, print
• basic shortcut keys.

Requirements

Materials
• Computer with latest software - 1 No.

PROCEDURE
1 Creating a folder (Fig 1) • Open File Explorer (Windows) or Finder (macOS):
Navigate to the location where you want to create
the folder.

• Right-click: In an empty area of the File Explorer Fig 2
or Finder window, right-click.
• Select “New” > “Folder”: Choose “New” from
the context menu, then select “Folder”. (Fig 2)
• Name the folder: A new folder will appear with the
name “New Folder” or similar. Type in your desired
folder name and press Enter. (Fig 3)
2 Creating a file

• Open a Program: Open the program you want to
use to create the file (e.g., Word, Notepad, a code
editor) (Fig 4)
